Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard surfaces
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has had a challenging period, managing just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a setback at the American major.
His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in especial - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with former mentor Cervara.
Presently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This represents the player's initial title since the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface since spring of 2023.
Victory also indicates he has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my children at once, so to win a championship is really nice," stated world number 14 the champion.
"This victory is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his past six finals, featuring in Halle previously this season.
Medvedev's defensive play style and regular reactions on the playing surface had led observers to doubt if his capacity to compete at the highest level was finished.
Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete positively, backed up by an better serve.
The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players traded break points in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his initial tour victory, gained dominance to push for a third set.
He defended 4 early break points in a tight third set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he clinched victory with a rally at the net, with his opponent unable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
